Mermaids Day

Saturday 01 July 2017

Craft work from workshops (Photograph: Mermaids)

A day of talks and engagement with trans children, young people and their families

Mermaids is a charity that supports gender variant children, young people and their families, as well as providing resources, training and information to supporting professionals. Parenting a transgender child can be a lonely experience, and many trans children and young people face daily discrimination and prejudice.

Mermaids day-long event is an opportunity to learn more about the work they do, and meet others dealing with the same issues. There will be speakers and role models from within the trans community to help empower young people and their families to achieve the best possible outcome in often difficult circumstances, along with practical information and peer support.

For the comfort and safety of those attending the event, further information on its location is only released to those who are booking. Please email the event organiser for further details.
