Quentin Crisp: Naked Hope

  • Cabaret and Variety
  • Plays and Theatre

"Quentin Crisp: Naked Hope" is the much-acclaimed solo play exploring the life of legendary wit and gay icon Quentin Crisp. Written and performed by West End actor Mark Farrelly, the play has been performed over 100 times across the UK, most recently Off-Broadway. With sixteen **** reviews ("Farrelly's mastery of his audience is total", Time Out), the play is widely regarded as a classic solo show. It returns to London for two special performances at Jermyn Street Theatre and Brasserie Zedel in Piccadilly. Depicting Quentin both in the 1960s in his Chelsea flat ("Don't bother dusting...after the first four years the dirt won't get any worse") and in the 1990s giving a performance of his one-man show in New York, "Naked Hope" is a gloriously uplifting celebration of a unique spirit, and of the urgent necessity to be matter what they say.
