Pride in London Young Persons Poetry Competition 2023

Join us in celebrating LGBT+ Poetry! Be inspired and get writing! Winners will be published on the Pride London website and read on stage for Out-Spoken at the Southbank Centre

The age groups are:

  • 6yrs - 9yrs

  • 10yrs - 13yrs

  • 14yrs - 18yrs

Judges:

  • Jack Underwood: Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Goldsmiths University of London.

  • Joelle Taylor: poet, playwright and author. Winner of the 2021 T. S. Eliot Prize and a 2022 Polari Prize.

  • Cia Mangat: Foyle Young Poet, Barbican Young Poet alumna, and editor of Zindabad Zine

  • Free Picturehouse Cinema Voucher to use at any location kindly donated by Picturehouse West Norwood

T&Cs:

  • Poems must be entirely the original work of the entrant and written for the Pride Youth poetry competition 2023.

  • All poems must be previously unpublished.

  • The poem must not contain more than 20 lines.

  • You can enter one poem.

  • Prize winners will be notified individually - TBC.

  • Copyright of each entry remains with the author, but Pride London has the right to use the winning poems on social media and in print. (We need a place to sign on the application form for this
