Lightning strikes twice
Oil on canvas, 90 x 90 cm
A group of young men on a hill looking lost, confused, dazed and distant. Yet huddled together forming one fractured mass under an electric stormy sky.
About the artist
Adam is an abstract-figurative painter exploring queer themes and the tragicomic realities of human existence based on his lived experiences in London. He often uses found imagery and vintage photographs of male sporting teams as a starting point, combining with other imagery to create slightly off-putting scenes. This subverts the original purpose of the image and accentuates the homoerotic undertones, slightly mocking heteronormative masculinity and queering the perception of the original purpose of the image.
