Pride in London has opened applications for its 2019 Pride Festival, encouraging artists, performers and venues from across the capital to submit their events as part of the month-long festival starting on Saturday 8th June.

The Pride Festival is London’s biggest LGBT+ festival, where artists and community groups come together to showcase everything it means to be LGBT+ in the capital today. The Festival is curated by the community, for the community - and features a diverse range of events, from cabaret shows, talks and film screenings through to walking tours, picnics in the park and even sporting events.

As with previous years, prospective event organisers will be required to fill in an application form which can be found at www.prideinlondon.org/events/festival. Event submissions are then reviewed by Pride in London in accordance with its Events Policy and also by the Community Advisory Board.

Last year’s Pride Festival featured over 120 events representing all parts of the LGBT+ community, including the LGBT Summer Picnic on Hampstead Heath, Pride tours at the National Gallery, a Rising Stars night at the Underbelly Festival on the Southbank, and Sexuality Late at the Science Museum - an adults-only, after-hours theme night celebrating human sexuality with talks, performances, music and visual arts from the LGBT+ community.

Simon Jones, Events Director at Pride in London, said: Last year was our most diverse and inclusive Pride Festival yet and we’re very excited to get even more fantastic events signed up for this year’s programme. Perhaps you’re an individual artist putting together your first ever show, or you look after events for a large venue or institution in the capital - whatever you’re planning we’d love to hear from you. No event is too big or too small!”

The Pride Festival kicks off on Saturday 8th June and runs for a whole month, culminating in the annual Pride in London Parade on Saturday 6th July. The Festival will be headlined over two weekends by the finals of the Pride’s Got Talent competition, where judges will announce which winning act will get the chance to perform on stage in Trafalgar Square at this year’s Pride.
