When did you come out?
How did you come out?
After "coming out" to myself, which was a process in itself, I came out to my mum over the phone.
Why did you come out?
I was dating someone of the same gender, and I wanted to be able to have a conversation about it with my mum.
Why do you volunteer with Pride in London?
Because it's important to me, as a bisexual woman, to feel represented in and by Pride.
Why do you think being out is important for the community?
Being visible is the first step in being accepted and accounted for in life. If I'm in a privileged enough position to feel able to come out in a situation, I owe it to the community to be a representative in that situation.
How has your life/ how have you changed since coming out?
I wouldn't even know where to begin. My life has changed completely. I can be my full self around friends and family, but more importantly I can be fully honest with myself.
