Pride in London Organisation Update

In September 2025, the London LGBT Community Pride Board (trading as Pride in London) commissioned an independent investigation into allegations relating to Christopher Joell-Deshields’ conduct while he was CEO of Pride in London, prior to his suspension by the Board on 29th August 2025.

Following the findings of the independent investigation, his employment has been terminated. This decision has been reviewed and upheld by an independent counsel following an appeal process.  As a result, Christopher Joell-Deshields is no longer employed by or affiliated with London LGBT Community Pride (Pride in London).

The Board has appointed Rebecca Paisis as Interim CEO, a role she has held since September 2025. Along with the Board, she has brought the organisation into line with its fiduciary obligations, maintained operational stability alongside relationships with all stakeholders, and is implementing a new governance structure to ensure Pride in London operates at the highest standards.

Addressing this update, Rebecca has said:

“Pride in London exists to champion the LGBTQ+ community of London. We stand for unity, visibility, and equality for all. That purpose is at the heart of everything we do and guides every decision we make. I would like to thank our community and all our stakeholders for their support in recent months, especially our volunteers who make Pride in London possible. As we enter the delivery phase for Pride in London 2026, I am focused on delivering another safe and successful event and leading the organisation with integrity.”

Rebecca has served the London LGBTQ+ community for over 25 years. She joined Pride in London in 2023. In her previous role as Director of Operations, she oversaw the successful delivery of Pride in London 2023, 2024, and 2025.
