THE PRIDE PARADE
THE PRIDE PLEDGE
Pride in London is rooted in Visibility, Unity, and Equality. The Pride Pledge is our shared commitment to ensuring that every organisation marching alongside us actively lives these values—365 days a year.
When you join the parade, you’re not just taking part in a celebration; you’re standing up for progress. Here is what we ask of every group marching with us:
Champion Real Inclusion: Be proactive in your support for anti-racism, gender equality, disability inclusion, and every corner of our diverse LGBTQIA+ community.
Show Up Year-Round: Demonstrate ongoing allyship through year-round initiatives, community partnerships, or direct support for LGBTQIA+ charities.
Practice Intersectionality: Ensure your organisation actively supports and protects people across all sexualities, genders, gender identities, races, ages, nationalities, disabilities, appearances, and faiths.
Tread Lightly: Take proactive steps to minimize your environmental impact by following our parade sustainability guidelines.
Note: Pride in London is built on a foundation of community trust. To protect the integrity and safety of the event, we review all pledge commitments and reserve the right to decline applications that do not align with these core standards.
THE PRIDE IN LONDON CODE OF CONDUCT
Pride in London is a celebration of Visibility, Unity, and Equality. Our Code of Conduct ensures the parade remains a safe, welcoming, and empowering space for everyone—amplifying voices across all parts of our diverse LGBTQIA+ community while celebrating London as a home for inclusion.
By joining us—whether marching, driving a float, or cheering from the sidelines—you agree to hold yourself and your group to these standards.
Shared Responsibilities
For Group Organisers: The Code of Conduct applies to every member of your group. Group leaders are collectively responsible for setting the tone and managing their participants’ behaviour throughout the day.
For Spectators & Supporters: Abuse or threatening behaviour has no place at Pride. If you experience or witness anything concerning on the day, our trained stewards and team members are here to support you.
Community Standards
1. Zero Tolerance for Discrimination & Harassment
Pride is built on mutual respect. We will not tolerate threatening, violent, aggressive, or discriminatory behaviour against volunteers, staff, participants, security personnel, or members of the public. Harassment or infringement on anyone’s bodily integrity will result in immediate removal from the event and referral to law enforcement.
2. Responsibility Around Alcohol & Substances
We want everyone to have a brilliant, safe day.
Alcohol: Please drink responsibly across the entire footprint, including assembly areas and the parade route. Anyone deemed unsafe, aggressive, or unable to participate safely due to intoxication will not be permitted to march.
Illegal Substances: The use or possession of illegal substances is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal and police referral.
3. Parade Presentation & Public Standards
To keep the event inclusive and accessible for all ages and audiences:
Participants must maintain appropriate public coverage along the route and assembly areas (as a general rule, standard swimsuit coverage is the minimum requirement). Public nudity or explicit sexual acts are not permitted.
4. Sustainable Celebration
We are committed to protecting our environment as we celebrate. All groups must follow our parade sustainability guidance, including using only 100% biodegradable glitter.
5. Keeping the Parade Safe
Pride in London reserves the right to remove any individual, group, or float from the assembly area or parade route if their behaviour compromises safety, violates this Code of Conduct, or disrupts the parade. In such instances, registration fees will not be refunded, and future participation may be affected.
If you see something, say something: If you observe an incident or safety concern on the day, please report it immediately to the nearest Pride Steward or Police Officer.
